Meet the Counselling Team

We know it can sometimes be difficult meeting people who you don’t know for the first time, so we thought we would introduce ourselves below.

Carmen Moore - Counselling Co-Ordinator
I love travelling ,having weekends away with family and friends, I enjoy going to the theatre to watch musicals, My favourite is Les Miserables and the Lion King. To relax I go to the gym and do yoga.
Debs Pereira - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
Hi, I’m Deb and I enjoy woodland walks with my 3 dogs, camping out in my van and being creative.
Helen Watts - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I like peace, no hassle and am happy at home with my partner and cats. Throw some snacks and netflix in and that will be me not moving for the weekend!
Frank Smith - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I've been at Youthworks for about 10 years, I also work at Mind and still dabble in the building trade occasionally. I picked this job because I enjoy meeting people, helping and supporting them. My interests lie in history, reading and walking.
Juan Aponte - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I am a dad of 2 beautiful children. I enjoy time with family, when possible I like to travel abroad or have a short break getting to know and explore new places. I am very passionate about learning and being able to speak different languages, perhaps this comes from being originally from Spain.
Karen Booth - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I'm a Mum of 3 girls and I have 4 grandchildren. I love cooking and enjoy knitting and crocheting in my spare time (not in a fuddy duddy way lol). I'm not the usual type of Karen, or so I'm told but I am inclined to call the manager if needed.
Nav Bains - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I love spending time with my family, travelling and going for walks. I enjoy cooking and gardening (although I'm still a learner). I try to fit in some yoga when I can and love to watch Netflix in the evenings.
Sami Marshall - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I love being at home with my beautiful cat Lyra. She loves to play and is always wanting treats. I enjoy watching fantasy and sci-fi stuff as well as true crime documentaries. Doing anything arts and crafts related makes me happy.
Tessa Lowe - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I enjoy spending quality time with my family, whether this be through long walks with our two dogs somewhere scenic or trying out new and adventurous cuisine. For a bit of down time, I enjoy watching films or losing time in a good book.
Jamie Ackerley - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
Music obsessed; If I’m awake I’m listening to or sourcing tunes, hunting out vinyl treats and going to as many gigs as possible. Films - the more obscure the better and if it’s a folk horror, it’s a winner. A week off - remote Norfolk coast, solitude, fresh air and long beach walks in all weathers.
Wahida McNally - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
Hi I'm Wahida, you'll usually find me in the gym or in the garden tending to my flowers and vegetables. When I'm not at home with my family and cat you might find me hiking in the great outdoors.
Adel Kenrick - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I am a Mum to 3 wonderful children who make me laugh everyday and i am very proud of their individuality. I enjoy spoiling my darling little boy cat, Mica, who i love very much! Mica also makes me laugh everyday and he brings lots of calm & peace with his presence. Astrology and the Moon Phases have always interested me and i love the beauty of trees, especially Weeping Willows!
Jenni Garrett - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
I love reading,in particular psychological thrillers & I am never far from a book! My other hobbies include building the larger challenging Lego sets. I also love to travel & explore new places with my family.
Michelle Hampton - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
When I’m not on a netball court or watching a scary movie, my favourite place to be is swimming in a lake with my family and trying to tempt my reluctant dog Paddy who prefers to curl up in a blanket.
Maggie Bailey - Counsellor and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioner
Hi, I’m Maggie. I love working at Youthworks and meeting new clients. I enjoy swimming and being outdoors, especially taking my dog on long adventures.
